Alves then is Javi, "the colorful life of the party who doesn't take life too seriously. He does his best to try to persuade new friend Tyler Locke to do the same." (Deadline.com)
MAGNUM P.I. (CBS) - Jordana Brewster is bound for the reboot series as Hannah, "a former CIA analyst who embedded Magnum (Jay Hernandez) and his team in Afghanistan (and bedded the man himself, apparently). Unfortunately for Magnum, it was all an act. Hannah betrayed his trust, which led to his capture and time spent as a P.O.W." (EW.com)
MRS. FLETCHER (HBO) - Domenick Lombardozzi has joined the cast of the Kathryn Hahn-led comedy series as George, "a plumber struggling to take care of his aging father." (Deadline.com)

UNTITLED ROB MCELHENNEY PROJECT (Apple) - The Rob McElhenney-led comedy, set in a video game development studio, has rounded out the cast with F. Murray Abraham as C.W. Longbottom, "a seasoned writer who works at the studio"; Imani Hakim as Dana, "a sweet and studious game tester who loves nothing more than gaming"; David Hornsby as David, "a hapless, emasculated producer"; Danny Pudi as Brad, "an alpha male who works in the monetization department at the studio;" Ashly Burch as Rachel, "who feels undervalued in her role as a game tester"; Charlotte Nicdao as Poppy, "the lead engineer at the studio"; and Jessie Ennis as Jo, "David's over-eager assistant." McElhenney plays Ian, "the Creative Director in the series." (Deadline.com)
VILLAGE GAZETTE (NBC, New!) - Amber Ruffin is set to star in a single-camera comedy pilot presentation for the Peacock and Universal Television about Amber (Ruffin), "the editor of the Benson Village Gazette. She loves fluff pieces that demonstrate the idyllic nature of life in her hometown. When the newspaper owners hire a reporter who's looking to uncover a juicy story in Benson, he threatens to unravel the happy denial Amber has been living in." Ruffin likewise co-wrote the project alongside Shelly Gossman with Sethmaker Shoemakers Productions' Seth Meyers and Mike Shoemaker and Broadway Video's Lorne Michaels and Andrew Singer also executive producing. (Deadline.com)
YOU (Netflix) - Ambyr Childers - who plays Candace, Joe's ex-girlfriend - has been promoted to series regular for the show's second season. (Deadline.com)
