Billy Hall Joins TNT as Vice President of Programming

Billy Hall has joined Turner Network Television (TNT), TVs destination for drama, as vice president of programming, announced Ken Schwab, senior vice president of programming for TNT and TBS. In this capacity, he is responsible for all scheduling for the network, as well as managing the programming department and budget. Hall is based in Atlanta and reports to Schwab.

Hall serves as the TNT counterpart to Jeff Carr, vice president of programming for TBS, who has been with the network since 1987 and who also reports to Schwab. Both Hall and Carr work closely with Phil Oppenheim, who in the newly created role of vice president of programming for TBS and TNT is responsible for strategic program acquisitions, original development and schedule coordination for both networks. Oppenheim, who has been with Turner Broadcasting since 1989, also reports to Schwab.

Billys unique experience in the television world, from both the programming and production aspects, makes him an ideal fit for TNT, said Schwab. With Billy overseeing TNT programming, Jeff Carr continuing to head up TBSs programming department and Phil Oppenheim managing acquisition, development and schedule coordination for both networks, we have the perfect team in place to cement TNT and TBSs positions as two of cables strongest brands.

Hall comes to TNT from Fox Movie Channel, where he served as vice president of programming and production, having also served as director of programming for FX. He helped launch fXM: Movies from Fox, then re-launch the network as Fox Movie Channel, working on scheduling and programming, on-air promotion and off-air event strategies for the network. At Fox Movie Channel, he also developed and executive-produced the 2000 Aurora Best of Show Platinum Award-winning Building the Beast, as well as Altman on His Own Terms, Making the Connection, Hollywood Remembers Walter Matthau, Hour of Stars, Fox Movie Channel News and Cult Culture: The Poseidon Adventure.

Halls other credits include executive-producing the cast and crew reunion for Young Frankenstein at the American Cinematheque in Hollywood, the M*A*S*H cast and crew reunion at the Los Angeles County Museum and 20th Century Fox Hour at the Museum of Television and Radio in Beverly Hills and New York.

Prior to joining the Fox Cable Group, Hall worked as coordinator of programming for the Health and Sciences Network. He also worked at Lifetime Television, Walt Disney Studios, Disney Channel and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.

Hall holds a bachelors degree (cum laude) in communications, cinema and photography from Ithaca College in Ithaca, N.Y. He has also been a guest speaker at the Ithaca College Industry Professionals Program
