ENLIGHTENED (HBO, New!) - Emmy-nominee Laura Dern ("Recount") is set to topline a new single-camera comedy at the pay channel from "School of Rock" screenwriter Mike White. The half-hour features Dern as "a formerly self-destructive woman who, after having a spiritual awakening, becomes determined to live an enlightened life, creating havoc at home and work." White wrote and will executive produce the project, a pilot for which he hopes to film by the end of the year.

MONK (USA) - Virginia Madsen ("Sideways") has landed a three-episode arc on the show's final season, reports Entertainment Weekly. She's on board as T.K. Jensen, a love interest for Ted Levine's Stottlemeyer. The series' swan song kicks off this Friday at 9:00/8:00c.

TERRIERS (FX) - Michael Raymond James ("True Blood"), Kimberly Quinn ("Two and a Half Men"), Laura Allen ("Dirt") and Rockmond Dunbar ("Prison Break") have all joined the cast of the drama pilot, about Hank (Donal Logue), "an ex-cop who partners with his best friend Britt (James) to launch an unlicensed P.I. business in which the duo, both with maturity issues, solve crimes while trying to avoid danger and responsibility." Quinn will play Hank's still friendly ex-wife, with Allen as Britt's hoping-to-get-pregnant girlfriend. Rounding out the bunch is Dunbar as Hank's former partner, a detective with the San Diego Police Department. Craig Brewer ("Hustle & Flow") is helming the Fox 21-based hour from a script by Ted Griffin with Shawn Ryan also serving as an executive producer.
