BAD SEED, THE (Lifetime, New!) - A remake of William March's novel-turned-film - about "the perfect modern woman who is confronted with one problem she can't overcome: her daughter is a relentless, murdering sociopath whose viciousness is matched only by her brilliance" - is currently in the works at the cable channel. Barbara Marshall (Exorcism Diaries) will pen the script for Warner Horizon Television and The Wolper Organization with the latter's Mark Wolper executive producing. ABC previously mounted a remake in 1985. (THR.com)

SNOWFALL (FX/FXP; W: Eric Amadio & John Singleton; D: John Singleton) - Billy Magnussen ("American Crime Story") is the first to be cast in the pilot, a one-hour drama set against the infancy of the crack cocaine epidemic and its ultimate radical impact on the culture as we know it. The story follows three characters on a violent collision course: Franklin Saint, young street entrepreneur on a quest for power; Gustavo Zapata, a Mexican wrestler turned gangster in search of his American dream; and Logan Miller, a prominent family's "black sheep" desperate to escape his father's shadow. He'll play the aforementioned Logan Miller. (Deadline.com)

AND IN OTHER NEWS... - Syfy has quietly picked up its supernatural drama "Bitten" for a 10-episode third season, due in 2016 (Variety.com); Chelsey Crisp's Honey has been upped to series regular on "Fresh Off the Boat" (Deadline.com); Frances de la Tour is the latest addition to "Outlander" as Mother Hildegard, "an intelligent and commanding Mother Superior" (Deadline.com); NeNe Leakes has opted not to return for the just-ordered eighth season of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" (@NeNeLeakes); Jessica Capshaw has closed a new three-year-contract to continue on "Grey's Anatomy" (TVLine.com); and Mark Burnett and Roma Downey are teaming with NASCAR for a new "scripted series set against the backdrop of the auto racing franchise" (Variety.com).
