9-1-1 (FOX) - Ronda Rousey has signed onto the show's upcoming season as Lena Bosko, "a stoic and fearless member of the Los Angeles Fire Department Station 136 who leaps into action to save lives when a disaster hits." (Deadline.com)
GO WEST (FOX, New!) - Bridget Carpenter has sold a potential drama to the network billed as "a stylized Western chronicling the ultimate American road trip in the pre-Civil War era of the 1850s. An eclectic group of people from different cultures and backgrounds find themselves on an epic quest for freedom, gold, and the American dream in California." CBS Television Studios and FOX Entertainment are behind the project, which has a penalty attached. (Deadline.com)
GORMENGHAST (Showtime, New!) - The pay channel has landed Toby Whithouse's small screen take on Mervyn Peake's novels, which "follow the inhabitants of Castle Gormenghast, a sprawling, decaying, gothic-like structure with a raft of characters including Titus, the heir to the throne of the House of Groan, scheming kitchen boy Steerpike and twin sisters Cora and Clarice." Neil Gaiman, Akiva Goldsman, Dante Di Loreto, Oliver Jones, Barry Spikings and David A. Stern also serve as executive producers on the Fremantle-based project, which has a script-to-series commitment and opened a writers' room. (Deadline.com)
LEAH REMINI: SCIENTOLOGY AND THE AFTERMATH (A&E) - The series will wrap its three season run with a two-hour series finale special airing Monday, August 26 at 9:00/8:00c. (Deadline.com)
LOVE, SIMON (Disney+) - Michael Cimino is set to star in the book-turned-film-turned-TV series, about Victor (Cimino), "a new student at Creekwood High School on his own journey of self-discovery, facing challenges at home, adjusting to a new city, and struggling with his sexual orientation. When it all seems too much, he reaches out to Simon to help him navigate the ups and downs of high school." Also cast in the half-hour project are Ana Ortiz and James Martinez are Victor's parents, Isabel and Armando; Isabella Ferreira as Pilar; Mateo Fernandez as Adrian; Johnny Sequoyah as Mia; Bebe Wood as Lake; George Sear as Benji; Anthony Turpel as Felix; Mason Gooding as Andrew; and Nick Robinson, who played Simon in the original film, as narrator. MAD ABOUT YOU (Spectrum) - Abby Quinn has been cast as the adult Mabel in the revival series, the daughter of Paul (Paul Reiser) and Jamie (Helen Hunt) Buchman. Meredith Bishop, Cara DeLizia and Janeane Garofalo were among the actors to play the character at various ages during the original show's run. (Deadline.com)
NEVERS, THE (HBO) - Joss Whedon's much-ballyhooed Victorian drama has tapped six additional roles: Kiran Sonia Sawar as Harriet Kaur; Elizabeth Berrington as Lucy Best; Ella Smith as Desirée Blodgett; Viola Prettejohn as Myrtle Haplisch; Anna Devlin as Primrose Chattoway; and Martyn Ford as an unspecified character. ONE OF US IS LYING (NBC OTT) - The small screen take on Karen M. McManus's novel has found a new home at NBCUniversal's upcoming streaming service where it was received a pilot order. The project, originally set up at E!, "tells the story of what happens when five strangers walk into detention and only four walk out alive. Everyone is a suspect, and everyone has something to hide." Erica Saleh penned the script and is executive producing alongside John Sacchi and Matt Groesch of 5 More Minutes Productions for Universal Content Productions. (Variety.com)
QUEER AS FOLK (NBC OTT) - Bravo's reboot of the iconic series has been relocated to NBCUniversal's upcoming streaming service. Stephen Dunn is penning the project, which "will feature entirely new characters in a new setting. It is described as a modern take on the original British series that centers on a group of club-going friends who find support in the gay community following a tragedy." Nicola Shindler, Lee Eisenberg, Emily Brecht and original series creator Russell T. Davies remain attached as executive producers for Digital Rights Group, Red Productions, Quantity Entertainment and Universal Content Productions. (Variety.com)
TWELVE, THE (FOX, New!) - Amanda Green has scored a put pilot commitment for a domestic take on Bert Van Dael and Sanne Nuyens's Belgian series "De Twaalf," "a character-driven legal drama that examines one high-stakes case each season through the unique perspectives and prejudices of the twelve jurors." Warner Bros. Television and FOX Entertainment are behind the project with Brownstone Productions' Elizabeth Banks and Max Handelman also on board to executive produce. Dannah Shinder is co-executive producing. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED DREW BARRYMORE PROJECT (Syndication) - Drew Barrymore is set to host a potential syndicated talk show for CBS Television Distribution. Production is underway on a pilot this week with Barrymore also executive producing via her Flower Films banner. No other auspices were given. Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution previously teamed with Barrymore in 2016 for a talk show that never got off the ground. (Variety.com)
UNTITLED OBI-WAN KENOBI SERIES (Disney+, New!) - Ewan McGregor will reportedly topline a new series for the streaming service. Details on the "Star Wars" project however are being kept under wraps. No auspices were indicated. (Deadline.com)
