B POSITIVE (CBS) - Izzy G has joined the cast of the multi-camera comedy as Maddie in a second recasting. Kamryn Kunody originated the role in the filmed pilot but was recast with Maggie Elizabeth Jones back in August. Additionally, Linda Lavin will recur as Norma, "one of the senior citizens that Gina (Annaleigh Ashford) works with at a local retirement home"; with Briga Heelan as Samantha, "an uptight, intense millennial who does not suffer fools"; Darryl Stephens as Gideon, "a very empathetic nurse who works at the dialysis center"; Bernie Kopell as Mr. Knudsen, "one of the senior citizens at the retirement home where Gina works"; David Anthony Higgins as Jerry, "a dentist who has been in dialysis for over a year, convinced he'll never find a donor"; and Darien Sills-Evans as Benny, "an associate philosophy professor at Fordham." DISCOVERY OF WITCHES, A (Sundance Now) - Filming on the show's third season has resumed "after a brief delay due to a positive COVID test." (Deadline.com)
ESSEX SERPENT, THE (Apple TV+) - Actress/executive producer Keira Knightley has bowed out of the Sarah Perry adaptation "for family reasons related to the coronavirus pandemic." Filming had been set to begin at the end of November. Producers will try and recast her role with an eye towards a new production start in 2021. (Deadline.com)
GILDED AGE, THE (HBO) - Production on the Julian Fellowes drama has shut down after "two crew members on the show tested positive for COVID-19 despite being asymptomatic." (Deadline.com)
GROWING SEASON, THE (ABC, New!) - Colette Burson is developing a small screen take on Sara Frey's recently published memoir, which "detailed the hardscrabble shift the rule breaking author made from rural poverty to creating a widely successfully family business that has now seen her dubbed "America's Pumpkin Queen."" Danny Strong Productions' Danny Strong and Mandy Safavi will also executive produce the project, which has a penalty attached, for 20th Television. Frey will receive a co-executive producer credit. MANIFEST (NBC) - Warner Miller will recur on the upcoming season as Tarik, "Grace's (Athena Karkanis) estranged stepbrother who reluctantly agrees to help the Stone family when they have nowhere else to turn." (TVLine.com)
UNTITLED SPACEX PROJECT (HBO, New!) - Doug Jung is spearheading a six-episode limited series "about the rise of SpaceX, Elon Musk's private rocket company that is in the midst of reviving the United States' space aspirations." The project, which is based Ashlee Vance's book "Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future," tells "the story of Musk as he handpicks a team of engineers to work on a remote Pacific Island where they build, and launch, the first manned SpaceX rocket into orbit - the Falcon 9 - on May 30, 2020." Free Association's Channing Tatum, Reid Carolin and Peter Kiernan will executive produce alongside Jung, Vance and Len Amato. (Deadline.com)
