Thursday's Broadcast Ratings: FOX Tops Charts with NFL Coverage

Here are the highlights of the 17 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (10/25/18):

FOX (8.947 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.6, #1) held onto the top spot on Thursday thanks to the "Thursday Night Football Pre-Game" (7.285 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 2.0, #3) and "Thursday Night Football" (9.279 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.7, #1).

CBS (8.071 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.2, #2) then remained the silver draw with its mix of "The Big Bang Theory" (12.700 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.2, #2), "Young Sheldon" (10.900 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.7, #4), "Mom" (8.051 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.2, #6), "Murphy Brown" (6.090 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T11) and "SWAT" (5.343 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T13).

Next up was ABC (4.860 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #3) with originals from "Grey's Anatomy" (6.512 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.5, #5), "Station 19" (5.022 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T7) and "How to Get Away with Murder" (3.046 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T13).

Meanwhile, NBC (3.240 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #4) served up new episodes of "Superstore" (3.058 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T7), "The Good Place" (2.690 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T11), "Will & Grace" (3.245 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T7), "I Feel Bad" (2.137 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.5, #15) and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (4.156 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T7).

And finally, a new "Supernatural" (1.362 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T16) and the premiere of "Legacies" (1.199 million viewers, #17; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T16) rounded out the night on The CW (1.280 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.5/3; "Late Show," 0.3/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.2/4 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.3/5. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.3/3 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (10/26/17):

CBS (7.858 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.1, #1) was back on top last night thanks to the NBC-bound "Thursday Night Football Pre-Game" (6.546 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.5, #4) and "Thursday Night Football" (8.120 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.2, #1).

ABC (5.378 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2) then was the silver draw with originals from "Grey's Anatomy" (7.610 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.8, #T2), "Scandal" (4.913 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T8) and "How to Get Away with Murder" (3.612 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T11).

Next up was NBC (5.380 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.2, #3) and its lineup of "Superstore" (4.571 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T5), "The Good Place" (3.981 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T8), "Will & Grace" (6.641 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.8, #T2), "Good News" (3.999 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.0, #10) and "Chicago Fire" (6.543 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T5).

Meanwhile, FOX (3.490 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #4) served up new episodes of "Gotham" (2.828 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T11) and "The Orville" (4.151 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T5).

And finally, The CW (1.648 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.5, #5) closed out the night with fresh installments from "Supernatural" (1.924 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.6, #13) and "Arrow" (1.372 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.5, #14).
